Russian gymnast Aliya Mustafina included in the rating of the best Olympians of the 21st century
ESPN has compiled a list of the best Olympians of the 21st century. The list is available on the channel’s website.
A total of 25 athletes were included in the rating. Among them, there was only one Russian woman — artistic gymnast Aliya Mustafina, who came in 13th place. She is a two-time Olympic champion in parallel bars, a two-time silver medalist in the team, and a three-time bronze medalist in the all-around and floor exercises.
The American swimmer, 23-time Olympic champion and 26-time world champion Michael Phelps topped the rating. Earlier, he also took first place in the list of the best athletes of the 21st century. The top 3 also included four-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics, American Simone Biles, and eight-time Olympic champion in track and field from Jamaica Usain Bolt.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will start in Paris on July 26 and end on August 11.
