After moving to the city where she started school, Justyna found employment at a company that produces car fragrances. The conditions seemed good, working from Monday to Friday doing simple tasks in a factory. Although she liked her job, it turned out that her employer’s approach quickly discouraged her. “Physically, there was nothing difficult there, but mentally it was a massacre,” she reports in a TikTok recording. She claims that she experienced mobbing and was fired because she didn’t wear a bra.
Justyna talked about mobbing at work
According to the woman, the company’s employees experienced mobbing from both their bosses and team members. She noted that no one stood up for the employees who experienced it. She herself was allegedly harassed at work by a female manager three times.
As she recalls, on Monday all female employees received a message that the company had introduced a requirement to wear underwear. “I’ve been working for two months, I haven’t worn a bra for three years, if not more, I dress in such a way that no one will even notice that I’m not wearing a bra,” she emphasized. She admitted that she felt embarrassed because the company had no dress code.
When she came to work the next day, she was in for an unpleasant surprise. “I was grabbed by the hand and words like, ‘Why aren’t you wearing a bra?’ (…) I couldn’t react. I felt like someone had stripped me of my dignity in one moment, no respect, I felt really bad, tears welled up in my eyes,” she said in the recording. It turned out that she wasn’t the only person this had happened to. When she and her friend went on a break, they received a phone call that their contracts had been terminated.
The company issued a statement
The story of the second dismissed employee was described by the portal “Fakty Kaliskie”. The portal also asked the employer for comment. “The decision to dismiss the employee was made in accordance with labor law and was not related to the lack of underwear,” wrote Mateusz Wieczorek, MTM Industries’ operations director, in a statement. He added that the company takes care of “protecting all employees from any discrimination”. We also contacted MTM Industries. By the time the article was published, we had not received a response.
