Mirra Andreeva to play Poland’s Linette in first round of Olympics
Russian tennis players learned their opponents in the first round of women’s singles at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The results of the draw are available on the Games website.
Mirra Andreeva will play against Poland’s Magda Linett, and Diana Schneider will meet Italy’s Elisabetta Cocciaretto. The third Russian in women’s singles, Ekaterina Alexandrova, will play against China’s Yuan Yu.
The tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympics will be held from July 27 to August 4. In addition to women’s singles, medals will be awarded in men’s singles, women’s and men’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Russians were allowed to compete in a neutral status, and 15 representatives of the country accepted the invitation to the Olympics. Of these, seven athletes are tennis players.
