Djokovic refuses to live in Olympic village due to increased attention
Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has refused to live in the Olympic village at the 2024 Games in Paris. This has become known to Sportal.
According to the source, Djokovic will come to the Olympic village only to greet the Serbian team. The athlete preferred to live separately due to the increased attention that bothered him at the Tokyo Olympics. It is noted that many athletes approached him to take pictures, and this interfered with the tennis player’s preparation.
Djokovic is currently ranked second in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, behind only Italy’s Jannik Sinner. The Serb has one Olympic medal to his name – bronze from the 2008 Beijing Games.
The Olympic tennis tournament starts on July 27 and will last until August 4.
