Cristian Pellerano ‘assured his continuity’ at Independiente del Valle for one more season

Veteran Cristian Pellerano is going to renew his contract with Independiente del Valle for one more season, as revealed on Monday by Argentine communicator César Luis Merlo, who specializes in the transfer markets of Latin America.

On December 12, when he was crowned LigaPro Serie A champion with the striped team’s badge, Pellerano said he felt “good” to continue in the elite of professional soccer at 39 years of age.

“As long as I continue to feel like this (good), I’m not going to stop playing; and the day I see that I can’t do it, I’m just going to take a step to the side because football has given me too much to try to rob him for calling him in some way, “he said in statements to Ecuavisa.

His extensive career includes stages in Independiente de Avellaneda, Tijuana, Club América, Morelia and Cafetaleros de Tapachula, among others. He landed in Ecuador at the age of 35.

If he signs a new contract “when he returns from his vacation”, as César Luis Merlo indicates on his Twitter account, Pellerano will play his fifth season in Ecuadorian soccer in 2022.

“After several days of negotiation, the captain assured his continuity for one more season,” Merlo said Monday afternoon.

The skilled midfielder entered the list of honors of the striped club after winning the Copa Sudamericana 2019 with the squad, and in 2021 he improved his record with the LigaPro trophy.

He has also won the Copa Sudamericana with Independiente de Avellaneda in 2010, although he celebrated the title without having played a single minute in five games that went to the bench.

In addition, it has a Liga MX championship when it was crowned with Tijuana in the 2012 Apertura tournament, and another in the 2014-2015 Concacaf Champions League that it conquered with America. With the Xolos he started in the second leg final, while with the Eagles he only played the first leg against the Tigres.

In the only final of the 2019 Sudamericana that was played in Asunción, Pellerano played the entire match. (D)
