UEFA Excludes Ukrainian Dnipro-1 from Conference League
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has excluded the Ukrainian club Dnipro-1 from the Conference League. This is stated on the organization’s website.
“To declare the 2024/25 UEFA Conference League match between FC Puskas Akademia and SC Dnipro-1, which was supposed to take place on 1 August 2024, as not having taken place due to the fault of SC Dnipro-1 (which is therefore considered to have lost the match with a score of 3:0) due to the fact that the match did not take place,” the statement reads.
A similar decision was made regarding the match, the formal host of which was supposed to be Dnipro-1. In this match, the Ukrainian team was also awarded a technical defeat with a score of 0:3.
Earlier, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) postponed a decision on the possible disqualification of Israel from participation in tournaments until after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
