LeBron James to Be U.S. Flag Bearer at 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony
Los Angeles Lakers basketball player LeBron James will be the flag bearer for Team USA at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, ESPN has learned.
It is specified that this choice was made by American athletes participating in the competition. James will become the first basketball player in the history of the US team who will be trusted to carry the flag. The second flag bearer of the team will be a woman, her name will be announced on Tuesday, July 23.
James has played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) since 2003 and is a four-time champion of the organization. He has been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player four times. As part of the US national team, James has won the Olympics twice.
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Russian and Belarusian athletes will compete under a neutral flag. It was also reported that athletes from Russia will not be able to participate in the opening ceremony.
