State Duma Deputy Svischev Criticizes the Level of Organization of the 2024 Olympics in Paris
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev criticized the level of organization of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The deputy drew attention to the huge number of problems in preparation for the competition. “They promised to clean the Seine River – they didn’t, and air pollution is at a critical level. The country is torn apart by internal conflicts, there are strikes and clashes,” Svischev said.
Earlier it became known that the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was on the verge of failure. The French Union of Performing Artists (SFA) was unhappy with their working conditions, inequality in treatment and the lack of social dialogue during the preparation for the ceremonies.
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians were allowed to compete as individual neutral athletes.
