Controversial English striker Mason Greenwood signed this Thursday with Olympique de Marseille for an estimated fee of 30 million euros (around R$ 181 million at the current rate).
“Olympique de Marseille are delighted to announce the signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United. The 22-year-old forward has committed to the club after passing his medical,” the French club said in a statement.

His mission will be to fill the gap left by veteran Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who will move to Saudi football, specifically Al Qadsiah.
The interest in Greenwood, 22, had not been entirely well received in the southern French port city, as the player was accused of rape and assaulting his girlfriend, a case in which he was eventually acquitted in February 2023.
Greenwood was suspended by Manchester United in January 2022 over the allegations, although prosecutors dropped them last year after key witnesses withdrew and new evidence emerged. He was loaned to Spanish side Getafe last season, for whom he scored 10 goals in 36 appearances.
Mason Greenwood was destined to be a star at United after coming through the youth ranks at Old Trafford and scoring 35 goals in 129 first-team appearances.
