Brazilian Savinho was officially announced by Manchester City this Thursday. The winger, who came from Troyes in France, is the English club’s first signing for the 2024/25 season.
“I’m very happy to be joining Manchester City, the Premier League champions and Club World Cup winners. Everyone knows they are the best team in the world at the moment, so being here is very exciting for me,” said the Brazilian.
Savinho joins City in a transfer worth around £33 million (around R$238 million). The player has signed a five-year contract with the team, valid until June 2029.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest managers of all time, and someone I know will help me to improve even further. I can’t wait to meet the fans and my new teammates and look forward to helping bring City even more success.”

The player spent last season on loan at Girona, a Spanish club controlled by the City Group. He played 41 games, scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists, and was a key player. Savinho helped the Spanish club finish third in La Liga, which earned the Catalan team qualification for the next Champions League, the first in its history.
In addition, he received his first call-up to the Brazilian national team in 2024, being part of the team called up by Dorival Júnior to compete in the Copa América. In the continental competition, in which Brazil was eliminated in the quarter-finals, he scored his first goal wearing the national team’s shirt, in the group stage, in a 4-1 victory over Paraguay.
“Savinho is a very exciting player and I think City fans will really enjoy watching him. What he achieved last season at Girona was remarkable and he is already part of the Brazil squad. He has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond,” said City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain.
