Tadej Pogacar shines on the queen stage and secures his fourth victory in the Tour

Euskaraz irakurri: Pogacar jaun eta jabe, Frantziako Tourreko nagusian stage

The Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar (UAE) has conquered the queen stage of the Tour de Francecontested between Embrun and Isola 2000 over 144.6 kilometres, ending with a prestigious breakaway with a prodigious climb in the form of a time trial to the final summit and thus sentencing the French round in their favour.

The 16.1km of tough climb to Isola 2000 was a feast for Pogacar. He arrived at the base in a small group led by his team, with Adam Yates, and when Matteo Jorgenson (Visma), the leader of the race, was 8.6 from the finish line, shortly after the Slovenian started the climb, the difference between the two was about 5 minutes.

But Pogacar, dressed in yellow and on the great alpine day of this Tour de France, wanted a party. And he had it. He ate up his rivals, the ones who had fallen behind in the breakaway of the day, after getting rid of Jonas Vingegaard (Visma) and Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) with a powerful change of pace without response.

And, cutting minutes and kilometers as if it were nothing, he reached Jorgenson almost under the banner of 2 kilometers to the finish line, he flew past him and arrived alone at the finish line to reserve this Tour. Pogacar arrived with almost two minutes of advantage over Evenepoel and Vingegaard, who They will continue fighting, barring a fall and retirement from Pogacar, for second place in what remains of the Tour.
