The jubilee 70th edition will start on Wednesday in Oberstdorf, Germany. The big unknown is the disposition of the Poles, who presented themselves much below expectations in the first World Cup competitions.
Hannawald in the form of Kamil Stoch
in an interview for “Przegląd Sportowy” he did not hide that he was very surprised by the current form of the white-and-reds. The legendary German jumper praised only Kamil Stoch, although on the other hand he admitted that his good form could be a problem for other Polish jumpers.
– he still keeps his head above the water, and as for the rest of the jumpers, I hope that during the days off they managed to solve the problems. Currently it looks like Kamil is jumping for everyone and the weight of the performances of your entire team rests on his shoulders. This can have a very bad effect on the morale of your team, commented the German.
Hannawald with advice for Kubacki
Out of all the white and reds at the beginning of the season he was the most disappointed, who so far managed to advance to the final 30th World Cup competition only once. This was in the season’s first competition, where he finally finished 13th. Hannawald suggested a drastic solution to him.
– I don’t see him looking overwhelmed since the beginning of the season. Of course, with his successes in recent years, he has set the bar very high for himself. It doesn’t make it any easier. If David is not feeling well, it would be best for him to take a step back or even skip the season. First of all, he must regenerate, take care of his peace – he said.
Hannawald also admitted that the weaker disposition of Polish jumpers may be the result of testing new material in overalls. However, he said that if the problem was with physical preparation, supporters might have a lot of concern, as it couldn’t be improved in a short time.
