Coach Tarasova expressed confidence that the US will not be deprived of the right to host the Olympics
Honored figure skating coach of Russia Tatyana Tarasova assessed the chances of the USA being deprived of the Olympic Games. Her words are reported by TASS.
“We won’t be happy if the US is stripped of the right to host the Olympic Games. They won’t let us anyway [проводить Олимпийские игры]”Why should I be happy?” she said. Tarasova also expressed confidence that the United States will not be stripped of the right to host the Olympics.
Earlier, former member of the International Olympic Committee and former head of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Richard Pound said that the “Rodchenkov law” and the doping case of Chinese swimmers have jeopardized the holding of the 2028 and 2034 Olympic Games in the United States. “This law does not comply with the anti-doping code,” he explained.
On April 20, it became known that in January 2021, the banned drug trimetazidine was found in samples from 23 Chinese swimmers. China said traces of the drug were found in the kitchen of the hotel where the athletes were staying. WADA considered that there was no evidence of doping, so the swimmers were allowed to compete in the Tokyo Olympics.
The Rodchenkov Act, signed in 2020 by the former head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory and WADA whistleblower, provides for criminal prosecution for cases of doping collusion at competitions involving the United States.
