Tatyana Tarasova criticized Russian TV channels’ refusal to broadcast the Olympic Games
Honored coach of Russia Tatyana Tarasova criticized the decision of Russian TV channels to refuse to broadcast the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
She noted that she would look for other sources and would definitely watch the competitions. “It would be a wrong decision to refuse to show the Olympics on TV. We are not participating, but everyone should watch the Games! Why are we being punished like this? Why do they punish their own?” Tarasova was surprised.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe supported the refusal of Russian TV channels to broadcast the Olympics. “It seems to me that this will be some kind of misery, not the Olympics,” she noted.
On July 13, the Sports.ru portal reported that Russian TV channels would not show the Olympic Games for the first time in 40 years. It was noted that the decision was due to the fact that domestic athletes would only be able to compete in the competitions as neutrals.
