The government will allocate 274.7 million rubles to the winners and prize winners of the BRICS Games

The Russian government will allocate more than 274.7 million rubles for payments to Russian athletes who became winners and medalists of the BRICS Games. This amount is named on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. In addition to athletes, their coaches will receive financial incentives.

It was previously reported that Russians who win a gold medal at the tournament will receive a payment of 358.4 thousand rubles. Silver medalists will receive 179.2 thousand rubles, and bronze medalists – 107.5 thousand. If an athlete wins several medals at the tournament, he will receive payments for each award.

The BRICS Games were held from June 12 to 23 in Kazan. The Russian team won the medal count ahead of schedule. The country’s representatives won 266 gold, 142 silver and 101 bronze medals.
