In 2023/24, the 23-year-old center forward was one of Bologna’s standout players and helped the team qualify for the Champions League, finishing the Serie A in fifth place. He was also named the competition’s best under-23 player.
In total, Zirkzee played 37 games last season, was the team’s top scorer with 12 goals, and also contributed seven assists.
Due to his good performances, the striker was called up by the Dutch national team for the European Championship, where they were eliminated in the semi-finals by England by 2-1.
In addition to Bologna, Joshua Zirkzee has also had spells at Bayern Munich, Parma and Anderlecht in his career.
The youngster arrives at Manchester United to be another center forward option for coach Erik Ten Hag. In that position, the English club also has Danish player Rasmus Hojlund, just 21 years old.
