Russian track and field athlete names way to improve running results

Russian track and field athlete Andrey Menyakin has named a way to improve running results. His words are quoted by “Championship”.

The athlete recommended five exercises that will help work out the leg muscles. Squats are suitable for strengthening the quadriceps and developing endurance. To increase the elasticity of the ligaments, Menyakin recommended lunges, which also activate the quadriceps and gluteal muscles.

According to the expert, toe raises are best for strengthening the calf muscles. To strengthen the spine, gluteal muscles and hamstrings, Menyakin advised doing hyperextensions. The final exercise — jumping rope — will help strengthen the calf muscles, improve coordination and develop the cardiovascular system.

Earlier, fitness trainer Nikita Skripnik gave advice to those who want to start running. First of all, he recommended that beginners contact specialists who will help them adapt to the loads and set the correct running technique.
