Two applications that many people have installed on their phones are stealing data and sending it to servers in China. This has been confirmed by experts from the Pradeo group. Do you have them on your phone? You better delete them quickly.

There are a lot of apps in the Google Play store, and as it turns out, not all of them are safe. Pradeo researchers have prepared a report in which they confirmed that these two apps are theoretically supposed to be used for file management and data recovery, but that’s not entirely true. They have been downloaded about 1.5 million times. Which apps are we talking about?

File Recovery and Data Recovery (com.spot.music.filedate) and File Manager (com.file.box.master.gkd) can be dangerous. They are said to have embedded code that can aid in surveillance. Both applications run in the background because they start up immediately after being launched.
