Former footballer Zhirkov said he would like to meet Stalin
Former Russian national team footballer Yuri Zhirkov told which historical Russian figure he would like to meet and talk to. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
Zhirkov said that, as a person interested in history, he would choose Joseph Stalin. “An interesting person. I’ve read many books about him. But what would I ask? I think I would have kept quiet there, ha-ha. I couldn’t ask anything of such an authority. I couldn’t say anything to the coach. And here in front of such a person!” he said.
Earlier, Zhirkov named the frequency with which he drinks beer. According to the ex-player, he drinks the foamy drink every day.
Zhirkov announced his retirement in February 2023. His last club was Khimki. He also previously played for Zenit, CSKA, English Chelsea, Anzhi and Dynamo.
