UFC Fighter Conor McGregor Accuses Nurmagomedov of Betraying Relatives
Former UFC champion in two weight categories Conor McGregor on his social media page X criticized the Russian ex-champion of the promotion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The athlete published an archived quote from Nurmagomedov, in which he promised to leave the UFC if the promotion terminated its contract with his relatives. McGregor accused Nurmagomedov of betraying his homeland. “He left his mother, wife and relatives behind,” he wrote.
In February 2024, Nurmagomedov’s cousin Abubakar Nurmagomedov was released from the UFC. Over five years in the promotion, he fought four times, winning two and losing two. In his last fight under the auspices of the promotion, he lost to Brazilian Elizeu Zaleski by split decision.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is a former UFC lightweight champion. The Russian has 29 wins in 29 fights under the rules of mixed martial arts.
