Lippert wins stage 6; Longo remains in the lead

Liane Lippert (Movistar) has won the sixth stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italiathe one disputed between San Benedetto del Trontoeta and Chieti (159 km). Elisa Longo (Lidl-Trek) continues to lead the overall classification.
Lipert made the breakaway with Ruth Edwards (Human-Powered-Health) and Erica Magnaldi (UAE Team). In the end, Liane Lippert wins the sprint, Ruth Edwards was second and Erica Magnaldi third.
Elisa Longo is at the top of the general classification. The Italian 3 seconds ahead of Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime)second, and in 38 to Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (FDJ-SUEZ)which is third.
