Complications in Barcelona. The hit transfer has already been booked, but they cannot announce it

Ferran Torres’ transfer from to has been in progress for several days. The clubs agreed on a compensation fee, which is to amount to EUR 55 million and EUR 10 million in bonuses. The 21-year-old, who joined the English club in August last year, will return to his homeland after just a year and a half.

Torres arrived in Barcelona on Sunday and underwent medical tests on Monday. The player is to sign a 5.5-year contract. There seems to be no stopping this transaction from happening. Even minor complications that were to appear in recent hours will not change the situation.

Complications with Torres’ transfer

All due to financial complications. FC Barcelona is still looking to register Torres to play in La Liga, which is subject to tighter financial regulations. Gerard Romero from the “Rac 1” station informed that the club will not release an official announcement on Monday, and that Tuesday’s presentation was also postponed.

Catalan “Sport” argues, however, that the problems are not great and the situation will be resolved on Tuesday. It is on this day that Torres is scheduled to join FC Barcelona.

These are not the first problems of FC Barcelona. In summer, for the same reason, the club could not extend their contract with Lionel Messi. To register new players, the club had to significantly reduce the salaries of the other players.

It is not yet known when Torres will make his debut for the new club. The registration of new players in Spain will start on January 3, which means that the Spaniard will definitely not play in the match planned for the day before with Majorca. The earliest Torres debut will be on January 5 in the King’s Cup match against Linares Deportivo.

Manchester City paid 23 million euros for Torres. Last season, he played in 36 games, scoring 13 goals and throwing in 3 assists. This season, due largely to a serious injury, Torres has only played 7 times. The Spaniard scored three goals and had one assist.
