Bayern announce the signing of Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha

Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha, who was at Fulham in England, signed with Bayern Munchen until 2028, the Bavarian club announced this Thursday (11).

Palhinha has been playing in English football since 2022, after playing for several clubs in Portugal, including Sporting and Braga.

The 28-year-old was signed for 49 million euros (R$286 million at the current exchange rate), according to the German press.

“This is one of the happiest days of my life. I now play for one of the best clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me,” Palhinha said in a statement published on Bayern’s website.

The Bavarian giants had already tried to sign him last season, but the deal failed to materialise before the transfer window closed.

Palhinha is Bayern’s third signing for next season, following the arrivals of French striker Michael Olise and Japanese defender Hiroki Ito.

The team will also have a new coach, Belgian Vincent Kompany, hired at the end of May.
