This Wednesday, the Colombia overcame the Uruguay by 1 a 0 and stamped his place in the grand final in Copa America 2024. Néstor Lorenzo, coach of the Colombian national team, celebrated his team’s qualification and thanked the fans for their support during the tournament.
“I would simply like to thank you for your support. I don’t think it would be possible without the energy we receive every day. I think it’s a group that gives everything, gives everything and deserves it, despite all the circumstances. We’re happy to put a smile on the faces of the Colombian people,” said the Argentine coach who leads Colombia.

Under the coach, who took over the team in June 2022, Colombia is unbeaten in 28 matches and is advancing to its second Copa América final in history. The last time was in 2001, when it beat Mexico and lifted its only continental trophy.
“We know what is happening and this generates a lot of satisfaction. We know that this is the best reward this group can have,” added Néstor Lorenzo.
The Colombians qualified first in Group D, leaving Brazil in second place. Before beating Uruguay, they defeated Panama with a 5-0 rout. Now, they will face Argentina in the grand final, which is scheduled for next Sunday, at 9 pm (Brasília time), at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami (Florida).
