On Tuesday night, the Argentina beat Canada by 2 a 0 in New Jersey and secured his place in the final of the America Cup 2024. Current world champion and seeking his second title in the continental competition, Lionel Messi, captain of the Albicelestecelebrated his arrival in yet another decision defending his country.
“The truth is yes. It’s crazy what this group has done, what the Argentine team has done, because, after all, we have to celebrate the importance of the final. That Argentina can play in another final is impressive. The truth is that it was a difficult World Cup, a very bad pitch, a very high temperature, so it was difficult to play, very tough teams. So, the fact that we managed to be in a final again is something to enjoy,” began the star who wears the number 10 shirt.

The final will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami (Florida) next Sunday at 9pm (Brasília time). Argentina will face the winner of Uruguay and Colombia who are competing for a place in the final on Wednesday night. Messi once again praised the unity of the group and highlighted the difficulty of this tournament.
“Let’s take advantage of everything we’re experiencing, and what’s happening to us as a team, as a team and as a group. I’ll say it again: it’s not easy to be in a final again and compete to be champions again. What we’re achieving is very difficult and we have to take advantage of it,” said the Inter Miami player.
The athlete, who has been voted the best player in the world eight times, said he is enjoying this Copa América as he enjoyed his last tournaments with Argentina. Messi also mentioned his more experienced teammates who are playing their last games for the national team.
“As I said recently, it’s not easy to do this (reach the finals). And we did it again. So we have to really enjoy it, I’m living it like in the last Copa América I played, in the last World Cup and I enjoyed it a lot, being aware. Like what happens with Otamendí and others who are in their last games and are enjoying it a lot,” he concluded.
In the 2-0 victory on Tuesday, Messi scored Argentina’s second goal. The player deflected a shot from Enzo Fernández and scored his first goal in the competition, 6 minutes into the second half.
