The Euro Cup will find out its second finalist this Wednesday. Holland and England will face each other at 4pm (Brasília time) in Dortmund.
Where to watch: the match will be broadcast
The Netherlands arrive motivated for the match. The Oranje came from behind to beat Turkey in the quarter-finals.
The Dutch are trying to return to being the protagonists of the Euro. The team has not reached this stage of the tournament since 2004, when they fell in the semi-finals.
Striker Gakpo said the Netherlands’ focus is on the title.
“We are in the semi-finals now and obviously that is not the end of the tournament. Every team in the semi-finals just wants to get to the final. That goes for us as well. So that is our ambition,” he said.
On the other side, England is trying to win the Euro title, which they lost on penalties at home in the last edition. However, the team has been suffering from poor performances in the competition.
The qualification for the quarter-finals came only on penalties against Switzerland. Therefore, the English will take to the field under pressure from critics.
Manager Gareth Southgate stressed that England have the ability to beat any opponent.
“There is absolutely no reason why we can’t beat a nation on any given night. It’s World Cup football, anything can happen,” he declared.
Whoever passes will face Spain in the grand final.
