Manchester United had a €50 million (around R$293 million) offer accepted by Lille on Tuesday for the transfer of 18-year-old French defender Leny Yoro. The player, however, is waiting for an agreement with Real Madrid, the club he dreams of playing for, according to the Sky Sports English.
Lille are facing a complicated situation with the sale of the player, given that he only has one year left on his contract. Real Madrid are comfortable with the transfer because they know that Yoro is preferred, and are even considering waiting until 2025 to sign the Frenchman on a free transfer if they cannot reach an agreement this year.
What remains for the English side, then, is to try to convince the defender to join the club for next season. United are also trying to sign two other central defenders in this window: Dutchman Matthijs De Ligt, from Bayern Munich, who wants to join the team, and Englishman Jarrad Branthwaite, from Everton, for whom the club has already had two offers rejected.

Leny Yoro made 44 appearances for Lille last season, playing a key role in the club’s Champions League qualifying campaign, which was awarded to the fourth-placed team in Ligue 1. He was also named in the Ligue 1 best XI at the end of the season, forming a central defensive partnership with PSG’s Marquinhos.
