Real Madrid are in talks to sign French defender Leny Yoro from Lille, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The 18-year-old is also of interest to other European giants such as PSG, Liverpool and Manchester United.
According to the same source, the Merengue club is confident of reaching an agreement with the athlete. The defender’s priority is to go to the Spanish team.
Despite his young age, Yoro was a regular starter for Lille last season. In total, he played in 44 games and contributed three goals.
The defender also regularly plays for the French national team’s youth teams. He was on the preliminary list of players called up for the Paris Olympics, which will be held between July 26 and August 11, but was left out of the final list.
Real Madrid currently have just three central defenders in their squad: Brazilian Éder Militão, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba. Captain in 2023/24, Nacho Fernández left the team to join Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia.
