France calls for Mbappe to be removed from national team

Former France player Leboeuf calls for Mbappe to be removed from the team

Former France international Frank Leboeuf has called for striker Kylian Mbappe to be removed from the national team, Get French Football News reports.

Leboeuf called the situation with the forward problematic. “If you are injured and cannot play at 100 percent, then it is better not to play at all. In my opinion, if a player can only give 50 percent of what he is capable of, then he does a bad service to the team,” Leboeuf explained. He noted that Mbappe cannot run normally and constantly adjusts his mask.

Mbappe suffered a broken nose on June 18 in the first match of the Euro 2024 group stage against Austria. Initially, it was reported that the footballer would need surgery, but it was avoided.

Mbappe wore a special mask for subsequent games. “It’s difficult because it restricts your vision and sweat collects and you have to take it off to let it drain,” he said of the difficulties he encountered.

The semi-final between France and Spain will take place on Tuesday, July 9, and will start at 22:00 Moscow time. The winner will play the top team in the Netherlands-England pair in the final.
