The Italian cyclist of UAE Emirates Chiara Consonni ha cattle the second stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italiathis Monday, in Volta Montana, to the sprint, while the Italian rider of the Lidl Trek Elisa Longo Borghini continues as leader of the general classification of the career.
On a day that was decided by a sprint, Consonni made the most of her skill and strength in the mass finishes to claim the third victory of her career in the Giro d’Italia. At 25 years old, the UAE rider already has four victories in this 2024 season, in addition to numerous top positions in the races she has competed in.
Use of the Ostolaza (Laboral Kutxa-Euskadi Foundation) has reached the finish line in the peloton that has played for the stage victory, while his teammate Ane Santesteban has lost 1:08; in the general classification, Ostolaza is 56th, 1:44 behind Longo Borghini, and Santesteban is 112th, 3:27 behind.
The third stage of the 35th Giro d’Italia takes place on Tuesdaystarting in Sabbioneta and finishing in Toano, on a 113-kilometre route that ends in a 2nd category mountain pass.
