Evenepoel wins the time trial and closes the gap with leader Pogacar

The Belgian Remco Evenepoel has been imposed in the First time trial of the Tour de France and has achieved his first victory in the French round this Friday, in the seventh stage.
The Soudal cyclist, making his debut in the Tour, rHe cut the overall lead by 12 seconds to Slovenian Tadej Pogacarwho maintains the yellow jersey with a lead of 33 seconds over the Belgian.
The Belgian flew between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin, a 25.3-kilometre time trial. The world champion had a problem with his chain in the final stretch, which slowed him down a bit, but he was able to maintain his lead.
The Danish Jonas Vingegaardwinner of the last two editions, is third overall, 1:15 behind the leader, after having been fourth in the stage, behind the Slovenian Primoz Roglicwhich moves up one place in the general classification.
Roglic is 1:36 behind his compatriot Pogacar in the general classification, while Ayuso is fifth at 2:16, a second better than the Portuguese Joao Almeida.
The Basque cyclist Mikel LandaEvenepoel’s teammate is eighth at 3:35 minutes.
