Dylan Groenewegen wins Dijon sprint, as Pogacar remains Tour de France leader
Dylan Groenewegenek led the Dijon sprint, and Pogacarrek led the Tourrean
The Dutch cyclist of the team Jayco AlUla Dylan Groenewegen ha cattle the sixth stage of the 2024 Tour de Francethis Thursday, in Dijonin a sprint very tight. In parallel, as regards the general rankingthe Slovenian runner of the UAE Emirates Tadej Pogacar continues as leaderand no significant changes have been recorded.
The flat stage profile suggested a sprint finish, and that is what happened. It was a spectacular final kilometre, with several of the race’s leading sprinters performing at a high level, in a mass finish that was decided by the strength of the Dutch champion.
With the achievement this Thursday, Dylan Groenewegen now has six Tour de France stage wins under his belt; a more than remarkable record, which he will try to increase in this edition of the Tour, given that three different riders have won in the three mass finishes recorded so far. The equality is at its maximum.
An important day is announced for this Friday, on stage seven: the first time trial of the 2024 Tour de France. The race will be held between Nuits Saint Georges and Gevrey Chambertin over a 25.3-kilometre route and will be a test to be taken into account both by time trial specialists and by cyclists fighting for the general classification.
