Arshavin compares Ronaldo crying over missed penalty at Euro to a girl
Former Russian national team footballer Andrei Arshavin has assessed the tears of Portugal national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo over a missed penalty at Euro 2024. His words are quoted by Match TV.
Arshavin compared a crying Ronaldo to a girl. “I think he cries more not because he cries, but because he knows he will be filmed and talked about. All the girls who are fans of him, they are only happier,” he said.
According to Arshavin, such a reaction does not spoil Ronaldo’s image. “And in general, at this championship he plays for the team and works for the team more than ever before,” the ex-footballer noted.
In the Euro 2024 1/8 final match, Ronaldo burst into tears after a missed penalty against Slovenia. However, in the post-match series, the Portuguese went first and was able to convert the penalty kick.
