This Tuesday, the Argentine selection announced the 18 players called up for the Paris Olympics. The choice was made by coach Javier Mascherano, former Corinthians and Barcelona player. Thiago Almada, agreed with the Botafogoand Manchester City striker Julián Álvarez are among the names selected.
In addition to Álvares, Otamendi (Benfica), 36, and Rulli (Ajax), 32, are the players over 23 called up.
The list has four players who were champions of the World Cup in Qatarin 2022, with the main Argentine national team. Precisely, the four athletes already mentioned: midfielder Thiago Almada, striker Julián Álvarez, defender Nicolás Otamendi and goalkeeper Rulli.

At the Paris Olympics, men’s football will begin on July 24, two days before the opening ceremony of the sporting event. The cities of Paris, Saint-Étienne, Nantes, Nice, Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseille will host the matches.
The Brazilian national team was left out of the men’s soccer competition at this year’s Olympic Games. The team advanced to the final stage, which guaranteed two spots in the tournament, but finished in third place, with three points (one win and two losses). Paraguay (1st) and Argentina (2nd) therefore guaranteed their presence.
