IOC: Group of experts decides to deny judokas admission to 2024 Olympics
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has assessed the refusal to allow Russian judokas to compete in the 2024 Games in Paris. This was reported by Match TV.
The IOC said the decision was made by a group of experts from the Individual Neutral Athlete Eligibility Review Panel (AINERP). It was noted that the panel used lists of athletes associated with sports clubs representing military and security forces.
Earlier, the IOC published a list of Russians admitted to participate in the 2024 Games. Of the 17 judokas who had earned an Olympic rating, only four were admitted to participate in the competition.
After this, the President of the Russian Judo Federation Sergei Soloveichik announced that Russian athletes refused to participate in the Olympics. The reason was the conditions of admission from the IOC.
