Midfielder Anton Miranchuk left Lokomotiv Moscow. The player’s departure was announced on the club’s Telegram channel.
“We thank Anton for the time he spent at the club and his contribution to its achievements! We wish him good luck and a successful continuation of his career,” the team noted.
Lokomotiv CEO Vladimir Leonchenko told Match TV that the club wanted to keep Miranchuk on the team. “The club made the player the highest possible offer to sign a new contract. However, Miranchuk did not accept it,” he said.
Miranchuk moved to the Lokomotiv academy in 2011 and was first involved in playing for the first time in 2013. In total, he played 217 matches with the team, in which he scored 51 goals. Together with the railway workers, the midfielder became the champion of Russia, a three-time Cup winner and winner of the country’s Super Cup.
