France captain Kylian Mbappé spoke on Sunday, on the eve of the Euro 2024 round of 16 match against Belgium in Dusseldorf, about the discomfort of having to play with a mask after suffering a broken nose in the first match of the tournament.
“I didn’t know, but playing with a mask is an absolute horror. I changed it because every time I tried a new one, it didn’t work,” said the star, who has already tried more than four models.

“It’s very complicated, it limits your vision, the sweat gets blocked, you have to take it off so it drips,” said Mbappé, who broke his nose in the final minutes of the 1-0 victory over Austria when he hit Kevin Danso with his head.
Mbappé did not participate in the second game, against the Netherlands (0 x 0), and returned in the third, the 1-1 draw with Poland, in which he scored a penalty goal.
“As soon as I can, I’ll take it off, but I have no choice. My competition will be like this, I can only play like this. It’s boring, but I have to be grateful for the mask,” he added.
