Marta Unzué extends her contract with Athletic for one season

Athletic Club has confirmed that Marta Unzuéstill in the process of recovering from the serious knee injury that occurred more than a year ago, has contract extended for one season which expired this Sunday.
“The midfielder will continue her rehabilitation at Lezama next season,” clarifies the Bilbao club about the Navarrese footballer, who will turn 36 on July 4 and has six campaigns and 140 games at the Bilbao club.
On May 13, 2023, Unzué tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee in a match against FC Barcelona and on June 5 she underwent surgery for the injury. One day before her contract ended, on the 29th, both parties agreed to extend until today, June 30tha link that has been extended until the same date of 2025.
