Russian judokas refuse to participate in the 2024 Olympics due to IOC conditions

The President of the Russian Judo Federation, Sergei Soloveichik, said that Russian athletes have refused to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. His words are quoted by Match TV.

The reason was the admission conditions from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), due to which, out of 17 judokas who had gained an Olympic rating, the IOC allowed only four to participate in the Olympics. “The Russian national judo team will not accept humiliating conditions and will not compete in the Games in Paris,” Soloveichik added.

Earlier, the IOC published on its website a new list of Russians admitted to participate in the 2024 Games, consisting of eight athletes. It included judoists Valery Endovitsky, Elis Startseva, Dali Liluashvili and Makhmadbek Makhmadbekov.

The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians are allowed to compete as individual neutral athletes.
