Single Window for mining begins its second stage of administrative simplification

The Vice Minister of Mines, Henry Luna Córdova, said that among the challenges to execute mining investments is to improve the paperwork, for which 10 State institutions have been integrated to open a Digital Single Window (VUD) that will soon be at the service of all investors.

Luna Córdova specified that in a single portal the investor will be able to follow the procedures of their projects in exploration, exploitation, mining expansions, among others, to obtain the corresponding permits.

This was stated during his participation in the Round Table: Why are mining investments not being carried out?, within the framework of the Conamin 2024 mining summit, which is taking place in Trujillo.

“The VUD will allow us to put Peruvian legislation in order, simplifying processes and integrating state entities that are now working together under the leadership of the PCM. We have started the second stage, which corresponds to administrative simplification, among other procedures to review regulations that are hindering processes,” he said.

Luna Córdova said that regulatory changes have been made to simplify the requirements of the Content Guides of the Environmental Technical File (FTA) for Mining Exploration Projects.

This measure responds to the need for more agile and efficient procedures so that mining owners can prepare environmental studies in less time and at a lower cost, without this meaning a lower quality of the environmental study.

“Peru provides tax stability by signing contracts for the life of the project, strengthening trust and sustainable development.

This promotes non-discriminatory treatment, guarantee of private property and free competition, freedom to access internal and external credit, freedom to acquire shares from nationals, among others.”

Before concluding his presentation, Henry Luna invited investors to visit the Geocatmin application of the Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet), which has more than 250 layers of geological and mining cadastral information, 3.4 billion queries with more than 180 countries. , 1,200 geological maps, 20,000 technical reports, 32,000 geochemical samples and 50,000 mining rights.
