Joselu was a member of Espanyol and was on loan to Real Madrid. Before the player’s transfer to Al Gharafa, Los Merengues exercised the option to buy the player for 1.5 million euros. Interestingly, this was the same amount that the Arab club paid Real Madrid for Joselu’s transfer. Therefore, the Madrid club did not make a profit, but they did not suffer a loss either.
Joselu was a key player in winning the Spanish Championship and Champions League. This season, the striker played 49 matches and scored 18 goals. The player was marked by the two decisive goals he scored against Bayern Munich, in the second leg of the semi-final of the European competition.
