The director of Women’s Football of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Markel Zubizarreta, has announced that he will leave office starting next week, which arrived at the end of 2023, to accept a “irrejectable proposal” of a club that fits more to their “family context”.
“The reason for the call is to announce that this week my relationship with the RFEF will end. It is a difficult and tremendously complex decision and it comes from a proposal from the world of clubs that is honestly irrefutable on my part, taking into account the family context and the level of personal growth. It has been tremendously difficult, but from family responsibility it has been impossible to say no,” Zubizarreta confirmed at a press conference.
