Supercomputer names Spain and England as favourites for Euro 2024 1/8 finals
The supercomputer of the statistical company Opta has named the favorites of the 1/8 finals of the 2024 European Football Championship. This was reported on the company’s website.
According to the supercomputer, the England team has the best chance of reaching the quarterfinals of the tournament, beating the Slovaks with a probability of 75.35 percent. The Netherlands’ chances of beating Romania are estimated at 73.29 percent, and Portugal’s probability of beating Slovenia is 72.25 percent. The Spanish, Italians, French and Germans are also favorites.
The 2024 European Championship will last until July 14 in ten cities in Germany. The Russian national team is missing the tournament due to the suspension of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
England have never won the European Championship. At the last tournament, the team reached the final, where they lost to the Italian national team in a penalty shootout.
