The candidate for Sousa’s successor is ready! And it’s not Michniewicz. “Green Light”

– Today I was informed by Paulo Sousa that he wants to terminate the contract with the Polish Football Association by mutual agreement because of an offer from another club. This is extremely irresponsible behavior, inconsistent with the trainer’s earlier declarations. That’s why I flatly refused – wrote Cezary Kulesza on Twitter, confirming earlier information that Sousa wants to leave the Polish national team for the Brazilian Flamengo. The president of the Polish Football Association refused to terminate the contract on both sides, but it is almost certain, especially as it is now impossible to imagine a situation in which the Portuguese would ever work in Poland again.

Adam Nawałka will return to the Polish national team?

For this reason, the Polish Football Association is looking for his successor. One of the most serious candidates seems to be the one who remains unemployed after his dismissal from Legia Warszawa (and before that, he successfully led the team under 21), but he is not the main candidate so far, but Adam Nawałka. – As we managed to find out, a great return is possible. Adam Nawałka would be the selector again. The interested person himself agreed to the talks – This information

he led Poland in 2013-2018 and advanced with it to the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 (which is undoubtedly the greatest success of the Polish national team in the 21st century) and to the 2018 World Cup, where the team was eliminated in the group stage after defeats with Senegal and Colombia and a victory with Japan. In total, he led Poland in 51 matches – his team won 27 games, drew 13 and lost only 11. During that time, he scored 107 goals and conceded 59, scoring an average of 1.84 points per game (including friendly matches).

In November 2018 Nawałka – who in the past ran, among others Górnik Zabrze, GKS Katowice, Wisła Kraków or Zagłębie Lubin – were taken over by Lech Poznań, but in March, after only 11 games, he was dismissed. Since then, he has not worked, despite several offers, e.g. from the Chinese market, from the national team of Armenia or Iran, or from Cypriot clubs. According to media reports, Nawałka was not in a hurry to return to work due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic – but since he gave the green light to talks, he is ready to make an exception for the Polish national team.
