Hungarian striker Barnabas Varga left the hospital in Stuttgart, where he was rushed last Sunday, after suffering facial fractures and a concussion after hitting the Scottish goalkeeper’s elbow in an aerial dispute at Euro 2024, the Federation announced this Wednesday. “Barnabas Varga was allowed to leave Stuttgart hospital this morning and is currently recovering at home in Hungary,” the Federation said of the 29-year-old Ferencvaros player.

On Sunday, at the Stuttgart stadium, Varga was seriously injured in the 68th minute, when he collided with Scottish goalkeeper Angus Gunn’s elbow and landed on the back of his head.
After being treated on the pitch, the player was removed and then taken, still conscious, to a hospital in the German city. Varga underwent successful surgery on Monday for his facial fractures.
