Tarasova: I do not agree with Fetisov, who called the Euro show in Russia a betrayal
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova responded to two-time Olympic hockey champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov, who called the screening of the 2024 European Football Championship matches in Russia a betrayal. Her words are quoted by Sport Express.
Tarasova stated that she did not agree with Fetisov. “We say that in Russia they play football so badly. Then let people watch the world,” she said, adding that in their free time people are free to watch whatever they want.
Earlier, Fetisov, in an interview with Regnum, called the broadcast of Euro 2024 matches in Russia a betrayal. He emphasized that he does not watch any international competitions.
The European Football Championship takes place from June 14 to July 14 in Germany. The Russian team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the tournament.
