WADA reproaches USADA for the number of American athletes tested per year
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has rebuked the American Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for the number of athletes tested in the United States. The statement was published on the WADA website.
It is clarified that in 2023, USADA took 7,773 samples from 3,011 athletes. “This is a very disappointing result given the size of the country’s population, the large number of athletes and the size of the Olympic team,” WADA said.
The organization noted that in Russia, Italy, Great Britain, China and France, athletes were tested for doping more often. “However, to distract attention from its own shortcomings, USADA is attempting to undermine American athletes’ confidence in the integrity of their foreign competitors,” the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that the head of WADA, Witold Banka, was summoned to the US Congress. He refused to appear when called.
