According to the specialist, during pregnancy, as well as in certain diseases, yoga can be useful, but the exercises must be adapted. “In case of varicose veins, some balance poses and long standing asanas are contraindicated; during menstruation, you should not strain your abdominal muscles, do backbends or twisting. Contraindications during pregnancy are even more numerous and depend on the trimester and state of health,” said Demyanovskaya.
The doctor also said that yoga should not be practiced during an exacerbation of chronic diseases or immediately after surgery. “Also, you should not start training in a state of physical fatigue, in the acute period of injuries, ARVI,” Demyanovskaya emphasized.
Previously, Demyanovskaya appreciated the benefits of cycling. According to her, this type of physical activity strengthens the body and can even prolong youth.
