After suffering a broken nose during his European Championship debut, Mbappé remains a doubt for France’s next match in the competition, against the Netherlands. In a press conference held this Wednesday morning, midfielder Rabiot brought news that could cheer up French fans a little.
“When I met him this morning, he was a little better. He went for other tests, I don’t know anymore. But the good news is that when I saw him he was better,” he said.

Rabiot also commented on the lack of Mbappé in the match and how difficult it is to replace him, but highlighted that he has full confidence in the rest of the squad.
“It’s a hard blow. He is a very important player, our captain, a leader. Obviously this will have an impact, especially on opposing teams, in their way of preparing for the games. But we have an exceptional group. Considering the athletes who we have on the bench, we have the means to replace Kylian. It would be a hard blow, but total confidence in the squad”, he said.
The game between the Netherlands and France is scheduled for next Friday, at 4pm (Brasília time), and is valid for the second round of the Eurocup group stage. Closing the first phase of the competition, the French face Poland on Tuesday.
