Magdalena Schejbal is one of the most popular Polish actresses. She gained incredible popularity thanks to the role of Basia in the TVN series titled “Kryminalni”. This production gathered millions of viewers in front of TV screens. This was the moment when her fame really blossomed, and Poles loved her for her unique acting and character. She later joined the cast of the series “Blondynka”. Her career was gaining momentum, and great success seemed to be just a formality. She got the main role in the series “Szpilki na Giewont” on Polsat. However, the production was broadcast only for 2 years.
What happened next to the actress? Magdalena Schejbal recently gave an interview on the Żurnalista podcast, in which she talked about difficult experiences from the past. It turned out that after she retired from acting, she had to face traumatic experiences. One of them was lack of money. It all started when she started investing in the catering industry.
Magdalena Schejbal didn’t have it easy in life. “I was ashamed to say I didn’t have bread”
– There was no money. Anyway, so far it is the case that after these situations related to doing business, things are also different. But these are things you take seriously. There were times when I had no money to buy bread. I was ashamed to call my mother and father to say that I had no money to live on, having two children, confessed Magdalena Schejbal.
Nowadays it also happens that, for example, there are payments that are delayed because you did something, but you have to wait for the money to arrive
– said the actress.
Magdalena Schejbal about financial problems. Her restaurant was taken over
The conversation also touched on the lawsuits the actress lost in court. Although the series “Szpilki na Giewont” was liked and positively received by viewers, this did not translate into viewership results. The production did not have many seasons. According to some media reports, the actress was supposed to demand a very large raise. It ended with the producer being accused of mobbing. Magdalena Schejbal lost this trial.
From that moment on, she was seen less and less often on the walls. She appeared less and less often at industry events, and was no longer visible on the screen as often, at least not in the main roles. Wanting to improve her financial situation, she turned to the catering industry. She opened a restaurant in a historic building in Zakopane. Unfortunately, this story also had a negative ending. The premises belonging to the actress were occupied by a branch of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society due to arrears in paying rent.
